Tranquil Morning Farm Heritage Breed Livestock
Dedicated to Heritage Breeds since 1998
We started with Shetland Sheep many years ago, a lovely small breed with the widest variety of natural colors. Listed as "recovering" by The Livestock Conservancy, work is now being done to preserve the many color varieties and markings. We later added Santa Cruz Island Sheep and Gulf Coast Sheep, but listed as "critically endangered" by The Livestock Conservancy. In 2025 we started our flock of American Karakul Sheep.
Coming in the spring of 2026, our farm will be expanding to include Amerian Guinea Hogs, prized for their smaller size, excellent temperament and flavorful dark meat.
English Shepherds are the old time working farm collies found across America since the 1800s. Registered through the English Shepherd Society and the UKC, true working lines and the variety found in this landrace breed, English Shepherds are bred for the qualities needed for a farm hand from herding and managing livestock to guarding the home and farm, varmint control and even hunting. The versitile English Shepherd excells at dog sports and some have shown great promise as service dogs.
